Mas Guest-
Mr Royle has asked whether he should give a lunch for
Mr and Mrs Dhun Ruttonjee, who will be in London from 15
June for about 5 weeks.
2.
Mr Ruttonjee is a leading member of the Indian community
in Hong Kong. From 1953 to 1968 he was a member of Legis-
lative Council. I attach a Personality Note which was
prepared by the Secretariat for Home Affairs, together with
the text of his speech in the 1968 Budget Debate which is
referred to in the Note. Mr Ruttonjee has a particular
interest in medical affairs and is associated with the
Ruttonjee Sanatorium and the Grantham Hospital. I understand
that whilst he is in London, he will be interviewing candi-
dates for the post of Anaesthetist in the hospital.
3. I told Mr Davies on the telephone that we recommend
that Mr Royle might give a small lunch. We agree tentatively
that this might be on 26 June; Mr Davies agree to consider
a venue and to arrange for the provision of funds.
