has also set up an independent Anti-Corruption Commission. The Head of the Commission is Mr Jack Cater, a senior

Hong Kong official of wide experience. The Director of

Operations is Mr John Prendergast, a former senior Police

Officer with extensive experience in Hong Kong and elsewhere. One or two senior officers from a United Kingdom Police Force

may also be seconded.

LINE TO TAKE

4. We fully support the Governor in his strong action to

stamp out corruption in Hong Kong. We have already agreed

to changes in the Hong Kong law and in Colonial Regulations. We are also willing to lend Hong Kong one or two senior

officers from Scotland Yard or another UK Force.
