Common-service costs will, be borne by the Civil Service
Department: other costs for individuals will be borne by
parent Departments (FCO to FCO Special Missions Vote).
(i) In China all members of the party will be guests of
the Chinese Government and will receive 1/10th of

(ii) In Hong Kong normal subsistence arrangements will
apply (details will be notified in the Administration
Arrangements)!
(c) For personal spending, individuals should arrange to take
travellers cheques or sterling within the normal exchange
