ANNEX B

INSTRUCTIONS ABOUT FORMAT

All briefs should be laid out in the same way and in accordance with the specimen layout at Annex C. It should be noted that:-

(a)

All briefs should bear their symbol and number in the top left-hand

corner - e.g. PMV(HK)(73) 2.

(b) All briefs should be complete and self-contained, with full headings,

numbers, dates, etc.

(c) All briefs should be typed in double spacing.

(a) All briefs should bear the date of origin in the top left-hand corner

under the brief number; and should bear at the foot of the last

page. on the left-hand side, the name of the originating Government Department and the date of origin.

Should late developments necessitate the preparation of addenda containing additional material on a topic on which a brief has already been prepared, the new material should also be set out in the usual way; and it would bear the same number as the main brief to which it relates, e.g. PMV(HK)(73) 2 (Addendum).

The titles, including the subject, of all briefs should be in capitals.

(g) All briefs should be as concise as possible.
