FRIME MINISTER'S VISITS TO CHINA AND HONG KONG

1. In the hope that Peking and Hong Kong visits will be reinstated in the not too distant future I enclose for the record a copy of the [draft Administrative Plan as it stood on cancellation day, so that

the nuts and bolts can be reinstated when 'new programmes and timings are known.

2. The main gaps in the plan as it stood seemed to be:-

(a) Accommodation, Communications etc in Cyprus and/or Gan

during a night or long day stop-over.

(b) Private Office arrangements during the provincial tour

to China.

(c) The Protocol list!

3. The protocol list raises its ugly head on every occasion so if you have a moment to spare and would like to put Mr Hurd and Dr Jarren into their proper places on the attached list we could use it on all future occasions as the names would change but not the roles.
