1. Miss Barnes is making arrangements to send to me at various points on my trip a selection of telegrams and papers so that I can keep in touch. It would be most helpful if Departments would send her copies of important policy submissions so that they can be included in the material sent to me by bag. I do not of course want to see ephemeral submissions or, for example, briefs for visitors to Ministers. However I would rather have too many than too few.

2. Equally if Departments have any matters which they wish me to raise in the various posts which Lord Carrington will be visiting do not hesitate to telegraph to me.
