CBF HONG KONG'S RESPONSIBILITIES FOR TASKS OUTSIDE HONG KONG

Background Material

1.

CBF has certain commitments outside Hong Kong which are

included in his directive.

These are:

a. The normal day to day administration and training of the

UK Garrison Brunei including British Army Units visiting

Brunei for training purposes but excluding units from the

ANZUK force. CBF has no responsibilities for the operational

command and control of the garrison in Brunei nor will he be

given such responsibilities during a period of tension or

operations.

b. Logistic and personnel matters concerned with the

Commonwealth Liaison Mission, Korea, other than those which

are of a purely Australian or New Zealand nature.

C. The provision of a ceremonial detachment of British

troops from the land forces in Hong Kong for the IT Command

Korea Ceremonial Honour Guard.
