Dear Mr. Creuson

UKK 3/548/2

You will wish to know that we are arranging our usual annual visit to the Services in Hong Kong by a party of up to seven MPs/Peers from 12 to 17 September 1973. This will follow directly upon a visit to the ANZUK Force in Singapore.

The first object is to see something of the work of the Services overseas but the visitors may well ask to see members of the Executive and Legislative Councils; equally you may feel that courtesy calls on the latter should be made.

We will shortly be asking the Commander, British Forces Hong Kong, to obtain the Political Adviser's views on this before drawing up an outline programme which is required here by 1st May. We shall of course seek your views when the time comes, meanwhile we shall be glad to know whether you have any objection in principle to the arranging of political calls of this kind.
