Dear Mr. Jackson:

The International Atomic Energy Agency, in co-operation with the Government of Thailand and in association with the United Nations Economic Commission for Asia and the Far East, will hold a Regional Survey and Briefing Course on the Technical and Economic Aspects of Nuclear Power Development in Bangkok from 3 18 December 1973.

I would like to draw your attention to the attached copy of the invitation letter for this course. We believe that this course might be of dir ect interest to the two utilities in Hong Kong, that is,

the China Light and Power Ltd, and

the Hong Kong Electric Co. Ltd.

and you may want to make arrangements that nominations for the course dan be made from Hong Kong. They would of course have to reach the Agency through the official channels (Forms attached),

I would also point out that the invitation letter specifies that the course is primarily intended for senior government officials and managerial-level staff from economic development authorities and electricity generating authorities connected with the initiation, evaluation and management of nuclear power projects and programmes.

If there is any further information which you would require I would be very happy to be of assistance.

Yours sincerely,

Mr. F.H. Jackson
