Thank you for your letter of 19th February which I have laid before The Queen.
Her Majesty notes that the Foreign and Commonwealth Secretary now wishes to appoint Mr. Denys Roberts as Colonial Secretary for Hong Kong and not as Chief Justice.
The Queen will be ready to consider a new candidate for appointment as Chief Justice when the recommendation is made.
