Princess Alexandra's office have enquired whether there is any objection to Her Royal Highness shopping at "China Arts" when she visits Hong Kong in October. Her Royal Highness knows that Princess Anne was allowed to go to the shop but since there was some discussion about the advisability of this she wanted to make sure in advance that there was no objection to her doing so too.

2. Sir Hugh Norman Walker and Brigadier Lewthwaite, who are in this country on leave, have both advised that there is no objection to Princess Alexandra going to "China Arts", nor can Far Eastern Department and Hong Kong and Indian Ocean Department of this Office see any objection. Nevertheless I would be grateful for your confirmation that this is all right.
