Алена,

Thank you for your letter of 1 August, addressed to George Doggett who is on leave, about entry into Hong Kong.

The following are the Offices for whose administration we are res- ponsible:

British Trade Commission

Office of the Folitical Adviser

British Civil Aviation Representative (Far East)

Regional Information Office

British Diplomatic Mail Service Office

We also look after the language students (ourrently five in number) in Hong Kong.

I confirm that it is our intention to give letters to anyone already here who wants to leave the Colony and return. My Grief experience of this problem suggests that Immigration Department of the Hong Kong Government would find it difficult to issue instructions con- cerning an individual traveller to all their entry control officers (your paragraph 4). George Doggett's Solution therefore seems to be

the best.

Yors Sincerely

Len Gizz
