A. ON PROBATION:

Note: All salaries and allowances are expressed in Hong Kong dollars a month.†

(b) Non-pensionable education allowances to overseas officers for a maximum of 3 children between the ages of 11 and 18 undergoing full-time boarding school education in the officers' country of origin as declared and accepted by Government for leave and passage purposes. The allowances are £180 per annum for the first child, £220 per annum for the second child and £250 per annum for the third child at a boarding school, reduced by the amount of any grant made by an education authority or other public body.

Note:

Education allowances are payable from the beginning of the school term next after the date of the officer joining Government.

Education allowances do not count as part of salary for any purpose (e.g. gratuity, points for

quarters, passages, etc.)

All salaries and allowances paid in Hong Kong are subject to Hong Kong Salaries Tax.

(a) No increments for experience may be granted.“

(b) Increments for experience maybe granted on the following basis:

(i) one increment for every completed year/2 years of relevant experience in excess of entry

requirements; or

For general conditions of service concerning passages, quarters, leave medical attention, language= study, pensions (for officers appointed on probation, or on transfer ur ön temporary transfer/ secondment), gratuity (for officers-appuimed on ageement), Widows' and Orphans Pension Scheme,

, please refer to the current Memorandum on Conditions of Service in Hong Kong.

The officer should be appointed on probation for

years after which, if his services

are satisfactory, he may be confirmed to the pensionable and permanent establishment.

B. ON AGREEMENT:

The officer should be appointed on agreement for a resident tour of

years.

C. ON TRANSFER:

An officer already on the pensionable establishment in another territory may be appointed on transfer.

D. ON TEMPORARY

TRANSFER/SECONDMENT:

An officer of the Home Civil Service may be appointed on temporary transfer/secondment for a resident tour of

years.

↑ The exchange rate at present is approximately HK$14.55 to the £ Sterling.
