Honourable Members will be asked to advise:

whether it is agreed in principle that Rediffusion's wired television licence should be extended

ad interim as proposed in paragraph 3;

whether a public announcement should be made as soon as possible on the future of television which would include a statement on an interim extension of Rediffusion's service on the lines suggested in paragraph 4;

whether recommendations 27 and 28 concerning television weather programmes and recom- mendations 70-78 and 80-82 concerning wired television should be considered in a further memorandum,
