I know that you have been in touch with the Governor of Hong Kong and with Julian Amery about the future of T.V.B. in Hong Kong and about the third Chinese channel.

We have no details of the latest discussions in Hong Kong, but we have now heard that a public announcement may be expected shortly.

Decisions about timing and about the nature of the scheme are, of course, made by the Governor and nis Executive Council in Hong Kong. We are not in a position to negotiate in London, and there may be some danger of confusion througn lack of information if we were to get involved in detailed discussionS here. The Governor has assured me that he is in VES close touch with T.V.B. in liong Kong, and you may think it would be wiser to deal directly through Harold Lee and the company's Board. Nevert.eltos, I am always delighted to see you. If you wish to come round here, say early in the New Year, when we should have a clearer idea of the Governor's plans, I would, of course, be glad to discuss the situation.
