DESPATCHES
1.
I confirmed with Sir Hugh Norman-Walker that we would not print Sir David Trench's valedictory despatch. I mentioned this also to the Governor. An acknowledgement has already gone and perhaps there is no more that we need do about the despatch. What do you think?
2. Sir Murray MacLehose told me that he would be sending a "first impressions" despatch but that he would be waiting a little longer before considering this. He would also be sending other despatches from time to time following the normal procedure in our in foreign countries and independent territories of the Commonwealth.
