Mr Scholar of the Treasury rang me this afternoon.

He has now received the agreed letter from the MOD

although our copy has not reached me yet (I am chasing

this up). Mr Scholar wanted to check that the letter

was an agreed one. He said he thought a meeting with

us i would serve no useful purpose and that the

Treasury would adjudicate. He hopes to let us have a

decision quickly.
