CATEGORISATION OF AID FOR DEPENDENT TERRITORIES.

1.

Your minute of 28. March.

2. I am glad to know that the allocations for the Pacific and the Atlantic dependent territories will be shown individually in future.

3. I am also grateful for your agreement to providing a breakdown of the Eastern Caribbean allocation into separate allocations for the Associated States and the West Indian dependent territories. If possible, would like the same treatment to be applied to the regional item in the Eastern Caribbean allocation although we appreciate there might be difficulties about this. The solution in respect of regional technical assistance items indicated in paragraphs 3 and 4 of Mr Huijsman's minute to you of 19 April may well provide a suitable formula.

4. With regard to your paragraph 5, West Indian Department have confirmed that for the purposes of the Aid Framework and Development Aid estimates, they would prefer to have a total WID figure rather than a further breakdown for each dependent territory. This will maintain flexibility both for West Indian Department and Development Division Barbados.
