In the light of your comments I have some- the same time is what amended the planned itinerary, of which I enclose a copy as Annex A to this letter. You will mything is quival see that in view of what you said about Tokyo Mr Rippon has agreed to drop this, and to add Ďacca in its place. He was grateful for this suggestion.
Mr Rippon takes your point about the risk of the Prime Minister, the Foreign Secretary and himself all being abroad at the same time (late September). However, if Mr Rippon's tour is to be worthwhile, and to enable him to visit the maximum number of Commonwealth countries concerned with our entry to the Community, there does not seem to be any way in which he could spend the last two weeks of September in this country. He believes that in any case this will be a somewhat quiescent period before the final build-up to the Summit, in which there should be no drastic need for him to be physically present in London.
