The Prime Minister has seen your letter to me of 14 June about the Chancellor of the Duchy of Luncaster's travel plans for September. He agrees that Mr. Rippon should pay a private visit to Hong Kong and that arrangements should go ahead on the basis described in your letter.
I am sending copies of this letter to McCormick (Foreign and Commonwealth Office) and Robertson (Cabinet Office).
