OPEN PRESS.

The Foreign Secretary will make a brief statement about his visit before leaving for Government House. This will be recorded and a transcript will be issued on the G.I.S. teleprinter network as soon as possible afterwards. The VIP press

conference room will be lit for television filming and photography. Reporters and photographers are asked to assemble outside the Airport Press Room by 4.30 p.m. at the latest. The Foreign Secretary is not expected to answer questions during this brief meeting. He will, however, hold a full press conference, at which he will answer questions, on Tuesday morning prior to his departure for Seoul.

POOLED PRESS ARRANGEMENTS have been organised in view of the restricted space. The Foreign Secretary's 15-minute speech will be broadcast "live" by the local radio and television networks. Pictures taken by official GIS photographers will be issued to newspapers and news agencies afterwards. Reporters will be accommodated in a special TV monitoring room adjacent to the Connaught Room. The text of the speech will be issued on the GIS teleprinter as soon as the Foreign Secretary speaks. Reporters covering the luncheon are requested to assemble in the TV monitoring room by 12.30 p.m.
