Visit of The Secretary of State for Foreign & Commonwealth Affairs. Programme for Monday, 14th February if weather restricts or prevents the use of helicopters.

A decision will be taken by 09.00 as to whether the cloud base is likely to be high enough for the whole programme to be carried out as published, or whether:-

(a) The use of helicopters is to be restricted to the harbour and Kowloon

areas, thus cutting out the afternoon tour of the New Territories.

(b) Helicopters cannot be used at all, thus cutting out also the morning

visit to TALTEX Ltd. at Tsuen Wan.

The visit to Tsuen Wan will take place as planned, but on return to Harcourt Road Lady Douglas-Home will retum to Government House instead of flying to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital. (Programme by arrangement with Lady Machehose.)

S. of S. takes off by helicopter from Harcourt Road accompanied by Lady Douglas-Home, Dr. the Hon. G.H. Choa, one Special Branch officer and one detective. Three more members of the party will travel in a second helicopter.

Arrive at Queen Elizabeth Hospital. Tour hospital with the Director of Medical and Health Services.

Met at Harcourt Road by the Director of Medical & Health Services, Dr. the Hon. G.H. Choa.

Leave Queen Elizabeth Hospital by helicopter.

Land at R.A.F. Station Kai Tak and enter cars.

Arrive at Ping Shek Low Cost Housing Estate and tour estate with the Commissioner for Housing.
