You will have seen from Sir Murray MacLehose's telegram No 11 that he has suggested that I should go out to Hong Kong a few days before the Secretary of State arrives there rather than stay on after the Secretary of State has departed. If you have no objection I propose to follow Sir Murray MacLehose's advice. I would propose to leave London early on the morning of Tuesday 8 February arriving in Hong Kong about mid-day on Wednesday 9 February and to return on Tuesday 15th leaving at 10.30 in the evening (the Secretary of State leaves for Seoul at mid-day) arriving at Heathrow at 10.30 am on Thursday 16th.
