300 students and youths marched from Edinburgh Place to Government House and asked to hand a protest letter to H.E. the Governor himself. They remained seated outside the gates of Government House until they discovered that H.E. the Governor had left. The petition letter was then torn to pieces and the group left.

150 students and youths attended Court to hear the judgement on the 21 accused arrested in connection with the July 7th demonstration. All except 3 of the accused were convicted, but given an absolute discharge by the Court. The other 3 accused were also convicted, but remanded to a later date for a Probation Officer's report. The 150 persons later marched into Victoria Park but dispersed peacefully after chanting a few slogans.

The Chinese University Students' Union organised a forum at Chung Chi College on the subject of Communist China's entry into the United Nations. Only 20 students attended and the discussions were purely academic.

22 members of the "70's Bi-Weekly" group went to Government House and handed in a petition calling for the discharge of the 2 worker defendants remanded until the 28th October 1971 for sentencing.

Members of the "70's Bi-Weekly" group tried unsuccessfully to solicit support from students of the Post-secondary Colleges and the Chinese University of Hong Kong to petition H.R.H. the Princess ANNE on the 27th October 1971.

21 members of the "70's Bi-Weekly" group decided not to hand in a petition to H.R.H. the Princess ANNE, claiming they were discouraged by the presence of a large number of Police outside Government House.

The President of the Hong Kong Federation of Students, who attended a farewell dinner for H.R.H. the Princess ANNE at City Hall, handed a letter to the Assistant Secretary of S.H.A. for transmission to the Princess, drawing her attention to student activities in the Colony.

Members of student organisations led a deputation of blind workers to Social Welfare Department Headquarters, Hysan Avenue, Causeway Bay.
