A delegation from the Hong Kong Federation of Students delivered a petition to Government House protesting at Police action in arresting the demonstrators at Victoria Park on the 7th July 1971. The petition also demanded an apology from Government, compensation for those injured and the dismissal of Supt. Whiteley.
The Hong Kong Federation of Students held a meeting at Loke Yew Hall of Hong Kong University to protest at the arrest of demonstrators at Victoria Park on 7th July
1971.
A forum organized by the United Nations Association of Hong Kong (U.N.A.H.K.) on the subject of the 7th July 1971 Tiao Yu Tai demonstration in Victoria Park was held at the City Hall. R.C. TAMERLANE, Assistant Secretary of the U.N.A.H.K., made a speech entitled "I Accuse" strongly criticising Government and the Police for their actions at the demonstrations.
The Hong Kong Protection of Tiao Yu Tai Action Committee sent a delegation to hand in a telegram from Chinese students in the United States to the Colonial Secretariat protesting at the arrest of demonstrators at the 7th July 1971 Victoria Park demonstration.
The "70's Bi-Weekly" group held a demonstration on the Tiao Yu Tai issue in Victoria Park but they first obtained Police permission and the demonstration was held without incident.
The Hong Kong Federation of Students, "70's Bi-Weekly" group and the Hong Kong Protection of Tiao Yu Tai Action Committee sent delegates to deliver protest letters to the Japanese and United States Consulates-General and to Govern- ment House demanding the case against demonstra- tors arrested at the 7th July 1971 demonstration be completely dropped.
An open forum was conducted by the Hong Kong Federation of Students at Loke Yew Hall of Hong Kong University with the participation of the other two Tiao Yu Tai protest groups.
It was
at this forum, which was held in defiance of conditions in a Police permit, that the Hong Kong Protection of Tiao Yu Tai Action Committee (Chong Kin group) made it clear that they were
