The "70's Bi-Weekly #1 Magazine

This U.S. style "underground" magazine was founded in January 1970 by a group of radical former students and graduates, most of whom were dismissed from Chu Hai College for criticising the College authorities. Their dismissal led to the first student demonstration in Hong Kong. The two ringleaders were Augustine MOK Chiu-yu (5459/2507/1172) the Executive Editor, who was involved in student movement activities in South Australia where he attended Adelaide University, and NG Chung-yin (0702/0112/6343), another editor, who is a graduate of Chu Hai College with extremely radical ideas and who also took part in this first student demonstration. The magazine purports to cater for students but also contains articles of an anti-communist and anti-government nature as well as promoting student movement issues. It is a registered magazine with its office at No.252, Queen's Road East, 8th floor, flat D, Hong Kong, and with a bookshop at 226, Queen's Road East, 1st floor, Hong Kong. The magazine is produced irregularly about once a month depending on the extremely unstable financial state of its editors. Its office premises are also used as a meeting place for radical students and for the organisation of demonstrations and other forms of student protest.
