while four representatives were to deliver the petition to the governor's
house on their behalf. Students were there outside City Hall to help the
petitioners with their food and water and blankets. In fact, students have always believed that the petition of the residents is well/justified
and they could render whatever assistance helpful to the de-privileged
group. However, iniation and planning of action were always left with the
residents.themselves who had earlier elected fifteen representatives to
make decisions on their behalf. The residents also held meetings frequent-
ly to discuss and made decisions on actions to be taken. They had also
called press conferences themselves. Even after the arrest, an emergency HKFS Representative Council meeting was called and in the meating, the student represenɓatives reaffirmed its policy of assistance in the resite
residents struggle for resettlement.
Students on whom were passed probation sentence decided to make legal appeals because they and all other student representatives feel that the court sentence was unjust and that points in the sentence statement of the judge are unfounded.
IN THIS MOMNET, WE NEED ENCOURAGEMENT, SYPATHY AND SUPPORT FROM ALL STUDENT FRIENDS OF HKFS. PLEASE GIVE US YOUR SUPPORT.
