11th October 1972

Dear Sir,

We have been in correspondance with the Hong Kong Federation of Students concerning the British Government's Resettlement Policy for Hong Kong.

We enclose copies of two HKFS "special information releases" which are specifically concerned with Yan Yi Resite Village and a protest by its residents which HKFS and Hong Kong students assisted in.

The information we have received from them gives us grounds for concern, and at their request we are asking you to give us details of the resettlement policies currently being pursued in Hong Kong.

We are also extremely concerned about what appears to have been precipitate arrests of both villagers and students.

Consequently, we would ask for some explanation of these particular events as well.

Yours faithfully,

Biran Klu
