MY VISIT TO MOSCOW

Please tell Gromyko that having looked at my programme I should like to take up the outstanding invitation to visit the Soviet Union in February

1972. You should ask which week in the month would

be the most suitable for the Soviet side but you

should express a preference for the first part of the

month.

For your own information, I should like if

possible to go to Moscow ahead of President Nixon, who I understand may be thinking of going there in

February "March 1972
