1. I am afraid that we have kept you waiting rather
a long time for a reply to your letter of 7 June
about the opening of the Science Centre at the
Chinese University.
2. You have received and replied to the Secretary
of State's telegram no 810 telling you of his proposal
telli:
to visit Hong Kong on 13/15 February; and you will
now be aware that the idea of his coming to Hong Kong
in April for the opening of the Centre is no longer a
possibility.

In his letter (of 29 April/to Sir Dennis Greenhill
See. I star Sir David Trench suggested that if these circumstances found it

State. We have made some enquiries to this end, both
from the ODA and from the Department of Education and
Science, but I am afraid that the demands on the time

event plans to be in Hong Kong during April, the
Secretary of State has asked him to represent him at
the ceremony
