INCREASED REVENUE FROM AIRPORT
$17.8 Million More Than Original Forecast
*******
The continuing growth in the number of aircraft movements and the
volume of passengers handled by Hong Kong's International Airport is reflected
in the income derived from the services provided by the Civil Aviation
Department.
The draft estimates of revenue and expenditure for 1971/72 show
a revised revenue estimate of $78.7 million nearly $17.8 million more
than the original forecast.
Aircraft landing fees and passenger service charges are up by
$6 million and $2 million respectively.
Increased air movements and greater passenger traffic are also
largely responsible for the increases of $2.8 million in revenue from airport
concessions and $6.4 million from airport rents.
The 1971/72 estimate forecasts a further increase of $7,150,000 in
revenue over the revised estimate for 1970/71.
