refer in particular to Section 5 of the Aliens Registration (Amendment) Act which permits (1) the employment of aliens as masters, chief officers or chief engineers in ships "employed habitually in voyages between posts outside the United Kingdom" and (2) subject to the Department of Trade and Industry being satisfied with an alien's qualification, employment in any capacity on a British ship at rates of pay not below the rates applicable to British subjects.
