1. It was agreed last January that a letter should be sent
to the Governor seeking further information about this
project.

Sir D Trench has now replied to Jir L Monson's letter
of 29 JamXA #1 177 • Copies of the Governor's letter have been

3. The DTI are in close touch with the British firms
interested in the project.
Those firms are at present doing
no more than maintain and if possible develop their commercial
contacts in the Jeleny. The DTI agree that no other initiative
is required at this stage.
It is clear that it will be some
time yet before the Hồng Kông Government are in a position to
assemble all the material required before a decision can be
tazen whether to go ahead with the project or not.
