TENDER PROCEDURE

221. Except with the authority of the Deputy Financial Secretary, stores or services exceeding $10,000 in value may be procured only by contract after public tender.

222. All tenders, whether public or private, exceeding $10,000 in value will be submitted to the Central Tender Board for their recom- mendations unless the Deputy Financial Secretary decides otherwise.

223. The Central Tender Board is constituted as follows:

Deputy Financial Secretary- Chairman

Director of Public Works or his representative Director of Government Supplies

In meets on each Wednesday in the Colonial Secretariat; however, the Chairman may, if necessary, fix a meeting on Tuesday or Thursday instead of Wednesday. All tenders and other communications for consideration by the Board must reach the Secretary by noon on Wednesday.

224. There are also four subsidiary Tender Boards which are authorized, under certain conditions, to deal with Government Supplies Department tenders up to $100,000. Architectural Office tenders up to $250,000, Marine Department tenders up to $100,000 and Urban Services Department tenders up to $100,000. The members of these Boards, appointed by the Governor, are as follows:-

(a) Government Supplies Department Tender Board:...

Deputy Director of Government Supplies Chairman Superintendat Chief Supplies Officer (Procurement)

Treasury Accountant, G.S.D.

(b) Public Works Department Tender Board:

Government Architect Chairman

Government Quantity Surveyor Assistant Government Architect
