Refugees

but in general

Persons with a valid claim to political asylum will continue to be admitted in accordance with the United Kingdom's international obligations.

Grounds for refusing admission

15. The grounds for refusing admission to a person coming wi UMAN one of the categories described above (referred to below as "the passenger") will be as follows:

a.

medical grounds (not applicable to returning residents,

on the wives or children under 16 of people settled here);

conviction for an extradition crize (nov applicable to

returning residents, or the wives or children under 16 of people settled here);

security grounâs;

deportation order in force against the passenger;

admission refused, on the Home Secretary's instructions on the ground that the passenger's presence in the United Kingdom would not be conducive to the public good.

passenger's character, conduct or associations such as to make his admission undesirable (not applicable to wives and children under 15 of people settled here);

passenger not admissible to another country at the end

of his stay here (not applicable to returning residents or the dependants of residents or passengers otherwise admissible as political refugees).

Illegal entry

A person subject to immigration control who is found in the United Kingdom after Landing without examination by an immigration officer, in circumstances where such examination is required, will be liable to be removed as if admission had been refused.
