HONG KONG IMMIGRATION ORDINANCE 1971

1. I enclose a copy of a letter from Mr R D Peachey of Hay

Road Hong Kong.

Since Mr Peachey has had to wait a considerable time for

the reply to his letter, it is considered that a reply in some

detail should now be prepared.

Provided, therefore, that

you see no objection I should be grateful if you would have a reply sent, on my behalf, álong the following lines:

(a) It is regretted that the reply has been delayed, but

the final form of the legislation to which he refers

was not determined until shortly oefore its enactment

in October.

(b) The Ordinance as enacted does not impose any additional

restrictions on the freedom of entry into Hong Kong
