(2) A person who has not been given notice

(a) of a deportation order made against him;

(b) of the rescission of a suspension of the deportation

order made against him,

shall not be guilty of an offence under subsection (1)(a).

Miscellaneous offences.

40.

Any person who without reasonable excuse knowingly

contravenes

(a) section 4(4), section 10(1), (3), (4) or (5), section

11(1), (2) or (4), section 12(1), section 14(1), section

15(1), (2) or (3) or section 28(1);

(b) any requirement made under section 4(1), (3), (5) or (6),

section 5(8), section 10(2), section 11(3) or section

13(1);

(c) any directions given under section 4(7), section 20(1)

or section 21(2); or

(d) any condition imposed under section 9,

shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable on conviction

to a fine of twenty thousand dollars.

Continuance of an offence.

41. Where a person is convicted of an offence under section

40 consisting of a contravention of section 12(1) and the contra-

vention continues after the conviction, then, unless he has a

reasonable excuse for the continuance of the contravention, he
