Following Parliamentary Question by Mr Merlyn

Rees is for written reply on 19 July:

BEGINS. To ask the Secretary of State what

discussions he has had with the Government of Hong

Kong concerning the new immigration laws in that

Colony which restrict the freedom of entry of

citizens of the United Kingdom and Colonies.

2. We assume that this concerns draft Immigration

Bill considered in Executive Council on 29 June (on which see m.i.f.t.) and relates more specifically

to clause 57 of that Bill.
