The Governor is empowered to suspend a deportation order, but the

power to rescind the suspension of a deportation order and thus reactivate

the deportation order, is reserved to the Governor in Council.

Under a provision of the Bill, persons claiming Hong Kong birth,

British nationality, long residence in Hong Kong and certain other matters

will have to establish their claim.

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF KOWLOON TSAI AND

MORSE PARKS SWIMMING POOLS

The Kowloon Tsai Swimming Pool will be closed to public use on

Sunday, July 11, between 9 a.m. and 12 noon.

During this period the Hong Kong Life Saving Society will be using

the pool to hold their swimming party.

On the same day, the Main and Diving Pools and the Spectator Stand

of Morse Park Swimming Pool in Kowloon will also be closed between 9 a.m.

and 12 noon. This is to allow the Pax Romana Evening Secondary College

to use the pools to hold their swimming gala.
