HONGKONG VISA RULE EXPLAINED

By Our Diplomatic Staff Britons intending taking up residence in Hongkong or work there will need visas under pro- posed legislation but tourists will not be affected, it was announced yesterday.

Mr W. E. Collard, Director of Immigration in Hongkong. denied carlier reports that a blanket visa restriction 011 Britons had been planned. The new measure would streamline immigration procedures.
