HONG KONG: PY TANG AND THE DEFENCE CONTRIBUTION
1. The Governor would like to enter into further discussion
with the Unofficial Members about the Defence Contribution
before he explains to Mr Tang that in present circumstances we can see no hope of securing agreement in London to a further grant to the Colony. His telegram No. 343 refers.
2. A copy of my submission of 21 May is attached.

I recommend that we should accept the Governor's advice.
