RESTRICTED
BERMUDA MEETING BETWEEN THE PRIME MINISTER AND PRESIDENT NIXON:
BACKGROUND MATLRIAL AND ARCHIVES
1.
I am urgently collecting background material and archives which may be required for reference during this meeting, for transmission to Bermuda over the next three or four days by the various means available. I shall be grateful if departments which have already prepared briefs for the meeting will urgently
consider what supplementary material might be useful, collect it in a suitably marked folder and address it without delay to Mr Salmon of my department, Room K 274.. I shall also be grateful if departments which have not hitherto been involved in the briefing for Bermuda will consider whether there are any issuel on which I, as Delegation Secretary, should be briefed or have background material in case the subject comes up at all during the Conference, or as the result of events outside the Conference. A confidential bag shuts at 1500 hours tomorrow, Tuesday. I shall therefore be grateful to receive as much as possible before then. Another bag goes on the Prime Minister's aircraft which will close on Thursday evening, and there are also occasional Messenges on Saturday and Sunday. Petails will follow in an Admin. circular.
