COMMONWEALTH COTTON TEXTILES
I sent you a copy of my letter of 21 June to Forrester.
2. As I have already told Forrester on the telephone, Treasury Hiniste now agree to the tabling on Report of a New Clause on relief from duty for Commonwealth cotton textiles.

3. Report (and 3rd Reading) is now arranged for 5, 6 and 7 July. assume that you will take the necessary action to ensure that the New Clause is tabled. This could either go down in the name of the Chief Secretary (as in the case of the New Cluse in Committee on the recording of exports) or, if you so wish, in the name of a DTI Minister In cither case, we shall look to a DTI Minister to handle the Clause in the House and to your Department to provide the briefing.
4. I am copying this letter to Forrester at the FCO.
