I have the honour to inform you that I have appointed Mr LI Fook-wo, O.B.E., J. P. provisionally and subject to Her Majesty's pleasure, to be an Unofficial Member of the Legislative Council with effect from 22nd June 1971 during the absence from the Colony of Mr T.K. ANN, O.B.E., J.P.

Mr Li is currently the Deputy Chief Manager and a Director of the Bank of East Asia Ltd., and he holds other Directorships in various commercial concerns. He has previously served on the Public Services Commission and is currently a member of the Salaries Commission. This is his first appointment to the Legislative Council.
