(i) Operational

Trade promotional activity seems to be competently

carried out. The Trade Commission is to be

inspected this autumn and the Inspectors have

been asked to look closely into the appropriate

grading of the Trade Commissioner (Press Relations).

(ii) Future Developments

We do not see any developments in the next two

or three years likely to change the demands on

the post.

(iii) Liaison between the BBC and Radio Hong Kong is

extremely close, and the local station uses a

considerable amount of BBC material. The

position of the British Council in a colony is
