RECEIVED IN REGISTRY No.51 13 APR 1971

VAKKI/I

Many thanks for your helpful letter of 15 March about briefing for Hong Kong.

2. I enclose copies of letters, which are self- explanatory, to:-

Mr Anderson

D A/C Candy

S W Gilbert

D A/C Collier

Traffic control

Town planning

Police administration

Mr Collins

Technical education.

As a result of these I hope to have a clearer idea of what it is worth doing in these fields by 3 or 4 May. I have asked Miss Tinman to make the appointments. If I am right in thinking that there is someone called an Inspector-General of Overseas Police Forces, I think I had better call on him too on 3 May, and I would be grateful if you would ask Miss Tinmán to add him to the list.

3. After I have seen these people I should like to have a word with you and Leslie Monson, perhaps on 4 May if that would be convenient.

4. I have already been in touch with Michael Wright, who I asked about the industrial consultants in some of the specialist subjects, and enclose a copy of a letter of his of 18 March. As I expect you know, John Moore has also agreed to arrange a week's tour of some of the principal cities in England, and I enclose copies of his letter of 20 January and of my reply.
