Thank you for your letter of 18 January about reading material. I am glad that you found the year book and pamphlets useful.

We have now selected some meatier stuff and I am sending you with this letter, some annual reports, the July 1970 issue of "The Banker" (which contained a special supplement on Hong Kong as a world financial centre), the current list of Hong Kong pub- lications (if you want any of these the Hong Kong Government Office will be only too glad to get them for you) and Richard Hughes' "Borrowed Place - Borrowed Time", All this material has come to us from the Hong Kong Government Office and they would like it back in due course.

We are also sending you separately the books of which a list is attached; these are from the FCO Library and they would of course like them back when you have finished with them.
