Meting with unofficials
It is recommended that the Secretary of State's cbject during
this mecting should be to impress upon the representatives of Hong
Kong the earnest desire of the British Government to support
Hong Kong in every way possible and his personal concern with and
interest in Hong Kong's problems. It is thought that the
following questions may be raised.
(a) Hong Kong's position in its commercial relations with
other countries. (See Brief No. 6)
(b) HIG's policies towards Hong Kong. (See Brief No. 13A)
(c) Defence Contribution. (See Brief No. 4)
(a) UK control of Hong Kong's air traffic rights in
connection with the financing of the extension to the
Kai Tak runway.
