should be consulted by you in the appointment of our next
Governor. What are your views on this?
ANSWER:
It is not the normal practice to consult any particular
persons or communities before advice is tendered to
Her Majesty on the appointment of Governors. The advice
is my personal responsibility but, in exercising it, I of
course give due consideration to any representations I may
receive.
