FORMER Shaw Brothers' studio boss Raymond Chow flies to Taiwan later today to "recruit more new faces" for his new movie company, the Golden Harvest Motion Picture Corporation. He will start his first movie for the new company in Taiwan later this week a thriller to be called "Angry River.” Mr Chow will interview se- veral young Taiwanese actors and actresses before choosing the leads for "Angry River.”

CHINESE Premier Chou En-lai says the status of Taiwan is the basic issue between Red China and the United States. Japan's Kyo- do newsagency said Chou made the statement to Jap- anese Trade Mission during a meeting with its leaders. Chou noted during the meet- ing the United States last year eased restrictions for travel by Americans to the Chinese Mainland, and that the Nixon Administration had approved personnel ex- changes between the two countries. But the Chinese Premier told the Japanese these were "side issues"
